Relaxing unusual interior, my friends love coming over they say it makes them feel like they are on holiday. The shed was built just before lockdown and has had a few makeovers but the latest one I designed after coming back from safari in Kenya and, having nowhere to put my photographs, decided to change the summerhouse into a safari hut. To begin with I lined the walls and ceiling with bamboo garden screening giving it a real safari look. There are photographs on the walls, and I have also collected masks and tables from antiques markets, charity shops and car boots, keeping the costs low. I luckily already had directors chairs, bought from an antique emporium in Lancaster. It really feels so relaxing.
The summerhouse was bought online just before lockdown and put up on site. I had it put on quite a high concrete base as, due to the next door's gardens being higher, my garden tends to flood especially with the current weather. However as I have planted water loving plants, and put a pump underground, my garden still looks great.
