This shed was the prototype model for a local company to win a commission to build hundreds of these beach huts on Mersea Island, Essex. This particular model was laying bare of paint for months on end and as I drove past her on a weekly basis I saw the potential in her; I saw that with a little work she could shine strong in the sea of greenery that is my garden. She has been painted with beach colours and the interior is packed with bunting, shells, boat bouys and all things fishy.
This shed is a true multipurpose space, it has a table and chairs for dining as well as for remote working (with its own power supply and broadband). Additionally there is sofabed so that guests can enjoy a cool beach themed summer sleep - although guests are advised not to be alarmed by the sound of squirrel feet running on the roof in the early hours.
