It was designed with two functions in mind. It is a garden shed at one end for tools for the garden (about one third of the length), and a Pub Shed in the other two thirds. Each side has a separate entrance. It was custom built by hand to fit into an awkward and unused space by the side of the house. It demonstrates how to make a wedge shaped building to maximise use of an odd shape. The Pub Shed side houses a small bar with fridge and space for about four guests. Small, neat and cosy.
The structure was built by two friends in the summer of 2014. The main building took about 4 weeks to build but the inside took longer and is always being tinkered with. It is fully electrically wired, is insulated and heated. It has WiFi access. The name "Velo Bar" started out as a working name but it has stuck. It relates to my love of cycle touring.
