It's my garden tool shed, it was built to fit exactly in the space. I wanted a square based shed 4ft by 4ft, and we struggled to find any shed to buy that would fit. So we decided to build one ourselves, and the obvious thing was a TARDIS! It makes a really nice feature in the potager area of the garden. Sheds don't have to be boring. It is of course bigger on the inside than the outside, and with careful planning and hooks, fits all my gardening tools. Perfect.
During lockdown we took up 20 year old decking from around the house. Although rotted in places, most of wood was still sound and it seemed ridiculous to throw it away or burn it. The TARDIS is built from decking boards on 3 sides and the roof. The doors were cobbled together from bits of wood we had around. It stands on a paving slab base which were lifted from another part of the garden and a brick edge. We had to buy 4 sheets of exterior ply to clad it with, some roof shingles and a pot of blue paint. My very talented husband cut the signs on his laser cutter. The light on top was a solar lantern that I was given as a Christmas present. It is almost totally recycled and a real statement to remind us of 2020 lockdown.
