The Scratching Shed was built for my family and friends who meet up at the shed before the home games of Leeds Utd. It is named after the old rickety south stand that used to be one of the terraces at Elland Rd and the gable ends face West and East as did the original football stand. From originally building 2 years ago it is used every weekend of the football season. As well as using the shed as a pre drink bar for the football it is also been used for England games/New Years celebrations/St Georges Day celebrations and as a meeting up place before we have our Scratching Shed days out get togethers. Once a year it is also used as somewhere to bunk as i am a former Royal Marine and friends come for a weekend get together in Yorkshire. Also once a year we play for the Annual Scratching Shed Pool Trophy which is held at one of our local pubs due to not enough room for a pool table. The Scratching Shed was formally opened by a former Leeds Utd player John McClelland and pops round to see us now and again to have a drink and chat to the lads.
