The contents of two old and ugly sheds had to find a new home into one more attractive shed. Having a small garden, the L-shaped layout enables twice as much storage possible without taking up too much garden space. Using a trussed roof also adds to the storage capacity. Our pet rabbit also uses the shed as his luxury spacious hutch during the day - hence the small door on the "west wing" so he can come and go as he pleases.
"Mabel" was made by myself out of two older sheds (9`*8`and 6`*4`)and the remnants of a wooden conservatory I had in my garden. Material costs were kept to a minimum. All that I needed to buy was a small amount of timber for a custom made door, the base, roof trusses, roofing felts, paint (Cuprinol Jasmine white) and fixings. I decided not to put the glass back into the windows mainly to keep it cooler for the rabbit and seeing the contents of bikes, ladders etc is`nt exactly appealing. It can easily be converted to a garden office by unscrewing the wall panels and replacing the double glazed units if required.
