This shed is unique due to it's bespoke and extremely robust construction. I made it out of garden sleepers (8 x 4) and also has a full structural timber roof, which I slated so it fits in with the local surroundings. It is a very large garden shed for storing my ride-on mower and other garden tools, and to use for whatever work comes to mind. Electricity, water CCTV are also provided. There is a shallow maintenance pit to allow me to access the mower deck for cleaning and blade sharpening. At the rear of the shed there is a separate log store. The doors are also very robust, constructed of fencing timber, up to 3" thick. All wood is pressure treated, and external metalwork is either galvanised or stainless steel. I'm hoping that this shed will outlast me!

Other info

I moved to North Wales in 2017, and in my garden there was a site with old rotten sheds, which I needed to replace, and also my garage was full with garden machinery. Over the years I have become disillusioned with standard bought sheds which seem to rot away no matter how much attention they get, and also I constructed raised beds out of garden sleepers. These 2 thoughts came together - why not build a shed out of sleepers? I looked on the web, but this did not seem to be a thing, so I designed a new solution (on MS Excel), using my garden sleeper experience, and also from having watched roofers re-slate my house in 2019. So this became my lockdown labour of love. I had to get a contractor to construct the concrete base to my specification as there was just too much work involved and I don't have a digger, but everything else is my own work. I started in August 2020, had the roof slated by the end of October, and doors and lighting done in November. After a Christmas break, the guttering and electrics were completed in March 2021, and the shed is fully up and running helping me manage the garden. In tribute to my local garden machinery expert, who is a real gem, I named this shed 'Iwan'.
