I started assembling the salvaged materials for my shed when the Nursery School at the bottom of my road renewed their fencing during Lockdown. I thought the old well seasoned featherboard would make a great skin for my shed project. I then started to accumulate discarded pallets that I found locally. I'd already found a window unit for the front elevation and my brother kindly gifted me the three lights above that.
Once I had enough materials I sought help from some Workaway.info volunteers. I was very lucky to find a time served German joiner and his Engish girlfriend who built a really wonderful looking shed for me - even though I had to cough up for some new structural materials for the stud, roof and floor - I'm still very pleased with the result.
Workaway is a global where people offer labour/skills in exchange for bed and board.
I'm an award winning filmmaker and screenwriter. I'm going to use it as a writing den, greenscreen and studio for small animation and film projects.
