Since i needed a gardening tool shed, the big eucalyptus tree in my garden made me think of Studio Ghibli's animated movie Totoro and so i decided to build a scaled down replica of the house where the story takes place.Being fairly small compared to the actual house, i had to disguise the entrance into the front elevation making it as inconspicuous as possible in order to retain the illusion of the building being full scale from afar.Since the back of the shed is overlooking a grazing field, i opted for a different and less intrusive cladding and i added a wide window that allows me to observe the wildlife with discretion
the fundations are ground screws, the building is made of treated timber and OSB and clad in feather boards and hardwood ply. the back is clad with onduline corrugated panels and the roof with onduline weathered red felt tiles.the walls are painted with cuprinol white daisy.
