    Shed Features

My shed is used for my new jewelry studio and is beautifully decorated in Victorian Steampunk style. I retired from owning my own bead shop and still needed a place to create what I love to do. Arti features two rooms filled with tools, supplies and everything needed to create my jewelry. It allows me to be free from distractions and get lost in a peaceful space away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I have tons of natural light with high ceilings and many windows. A loft for storage along with many storage bins to hold all of my beads. I kept so many beads when I retired and closed my bead shop of 17 years. I do Steampunk jewelry along with many other styles but, having Arti designed in Steampunk Victorian style helps my mind to wonder and come up with some unique designs. My husband and I worked so hard to get the feel I was going for. With board and batten walls and ceiling, large cogs and gears, pipes made from PVC pipe painted to look like copper and walls under my workbench painted to look like rusty metal. We cobbled together our own light fixtures from parts at the hardware store and they are one of my favorite features. The name Arti is short for Artificer meaning ( A skilled craftsman or inventor, a person who is skillful or clever in devising.) After being a jewelry designer for over 30 years, I can at least claim craftswomen, lol!

    Other Shed info

It took almost 5 months for me and my husband to create my studio doing all of the work ourselves. Had so much fun searching flea markets, antique shops, and garage sales and discount stores to build my themed shed. In Ohio we have store called Restore where you can pick up donated home improvement items at discount pricing. We did my entire floor for only 70.00, my panels for the ceiling and walls for only 1.50 a sheet and insulation, caulking and screws at a huge savings.
