My shed space features include floor to ceiling glass external walls, large opening doors with a hidden room inside which is accessed through a sliding wall revealing bicycle storage and a bike maintenance area.
The sliding wall also houses tools that are used both in the bike room and the main open plan area when in workshop mode.
The main open area is multi-functional. It’s a furniture restoring area, and photo studio, a music room, an art studio and a place to relax.
The build is raised off the floor supported by 8 aluminium legs to protect against flooding as it is located close to a river. There is an external deck area to sit out on and the whole build is surrounded by trees one of which grows through the extended pergola roof.
The build was inspired by my interest in art, design and architecture.
I also needed to raise it off the ground due to the possibility of flooding.
There have been many famous glass house builds throughout history and this has been my take on a practical usable space that reflects my interest in modernist architecture.
A place to work and relax.I have a video that I can send.
