Shed of the year 2010 has been announced

Shedtype: [Normal Shed]

Features: This shed has grown perfectly into our yard and neighborhood. It is 12' x' 20'. The peaked roof provides extra storage after the addition of ceiling racks.

Additional Info: This is the second shed built for this site. The first was built off-site by an Amish company, who sent a picture before delivering (yes, the Amish have cameras and email&who knew?). Upon seeing the photo, the neighborhood association promptly disapproved the structure. Luckily the company was very accommodating and agreed to sell the original shed, and they assisted with design of the new one, which required a peaked roof in keeping with the neighborhood covenant. The bottom portion of the shed was delivered assembled and the roof was built on-site in one day.

The Amish in Lancaster County, PA are skilled builders and have always been a pleasure to work with. I recommend them for any structures needed in the mid-Atlantic region, no matter ho custom.

This photo was taken during a recent snowfall (January, 2009).

This shed has been viewed 2072 times.

From what I know of the Amish they are skilled craftsmen with a huge amount of integrity, and this wonderful shed is a beautiful example of thier work. I believe they only use hand tools, but perhaps they use powertools now - do you know?
