After turning my work shed into a bar in my old house I was hooked. So when my wife said she wanted to move I was gutted but came up with the perfect solution. After bargaining with her it was debated that as long as I give her a new kitchen in the new house, I was allowed to build myself a purpose built shed RESULT!! and so it started..... boot sales, charity shops anywhere I could find things for my new shed. Then I discovered they were pulling down the local pub. So I bought the contents including the bar, lights, tables, chairs, fridge even the cladding off the walls and the sign from outside.I also managed to buy 4 old pews from a local church to finish the look. Because it was purpose built I was able to put an open apex roof to have all the beams showing just like an old welsh pub.As I am a monumental mason I built a fireplace out of old forest of dean stone, carved the 3 welsh feathers in the center and put in a log burner for those cold winter nights. Over the last 2 years we have added a 37" tv, sky multiroom for the rugby, dart board, karaoke system, disco lights and full surround sound. My brother in law made me 2 plywood air guitars as seen in one of the photos we have had many a good night in the masons arms.So I hope you enjoy the photos and maybe you'll be inspired to build your own!
I started building this shed in 2009 and to be honest the outside is still not finished. It is 5m x 5m squared with a pitched slate roof.
