During the building of this space I was donated terracotta roof tiles by a neighbour. Ridge tiles were from a reclaim yard and many items were up-cycled from various sources. It faces East and a skylight lets in evening sunshine making it a light and airy workshop. It is multifunctional - sometimes called The Workhouse! The Summerhouse or just The Shed. The walnut tree was incorporated into the decking and a gate included at the side for me to access my toolshed for a G n T from a small fridge!I I have my breakfast on sunny mornings there listening to the birds - glorious.
I involved a local shed builder who had never built a double skinned shed. He insulated it for me and I have power and a calor gas heater for chilly days. Paints used were Wild Thyme and Country Cream by Cuprinol. All in all a welcoming creative space. My next project is to incorporate a stunning reclaimed lead-light into my work space.
