The shed was built from September 2024, and was completed internally for New Year 24/25. Almost 20 people packed inside welcomed in the New Year! The shed is mostly used for social occasions but can be used for work or study. The decking area has a small water feature for relaxing noise. A nearby drain allowed me to add a urinal and a small hose-fed sink unit. The deck area (finished with Cuprinol Hampshire Oak) was added recently, which completed the project. A number of secondhand or recycled items completed the interior of the shed and helps to add to the Garage Route 66 theme!
The shed was made from an old brick outhouse, half of it was knocked down and extended in wood (within size guidance as to not require planning permission). A new wooden roof and felt added. A lot of recycled material used - as can be seen in photos. - the bar canopy is made with an old corrugated iron compost container found in the rear of the garden, off cuts from prevuios fencing and decking projects used for seating, and old kitchen cabinets used as the front windows! Some setts rescued from the rear of the garden also form the front drive effect for the garage theme. It was built by myself and my dad with a small helping hand from my 6 year old. An electrician friend checked over the electrics.
