All season long entertaining area - discreet external bar area Indoor/outdoors - best of both worlds

We decided to convert a shady unused part of the garden as we came out of lockdown.

We had spent a lot of time in the States and enjoyed the concept of a 'room outdoors'.

We found a fantastic local craftsman, James Newton who helped make our ambitious plans a reality.

He listened to our ideas and came up with some great solutions.

We wanted a discreet bar area that could be folded away when not in play - the use of piano hinges helped create the perfect folding serving hatch.

We also like the idea of sliding barn doors that would allow the whole area to open up when entertaining.

The outdoor area works well all year round and is helped by infrared wall mounted heaters; it is a great way to sit and observe the garden.

The walls are both insulated and sound proofed.

We chose a composite floor for ease of use and longevity.

The walls are painted with Cuprinol country cream garden shades and posts/insides with Cuprinol clear wood preserver.

The area has been a great investment and used all year round.

The addition of an outdoor stove has proven a great success.

We designed a portable hearth that has allowed the fire to be moved around depending on circumstances.

Everyone who has visited the Ord Arms has enjoyed their stay and we look forward to many more years of revelry!
