Shed Features

A shed/barn experience out of the ordinary! When two people find each other later in life, it's often a problem what to do with one's memories and treasures from a previous life. This garden shed, or strictly speaking, a Dutch Barn, was the answer - and it has gone on to become an art gallery, music venue, meeting place and a totally relaxing haven for family, friends and neighbours. The 'barn' experience begins outside as I invite visitors to view the art works of Dame Laura Knight, Walter Sickert and Jackson Pollack.

This is an ever changing part of the experience as the pictures are changed every month). Once inside, and seated on the very comfortable leather recliner or tub chair, one can enjoy a homage to Costa Rica - my one time home, the wonder of trains (with a fully functioning train layout on a raised shelf), a trombone and saxaphone, (I play each one depending on my preference of the day!) an esoteric collection of lava lamps and mood lighting dating from the 1960s, 20th century art, photographs and collectables - each with meaning and purpose - not to mention, a very nice selection of scotch for my visitors to enjoy! To further help the barn experience along there is a lovely music system in place, and, as it's World Cup time of year, a table football game to play. WiFi is also provided to watch movies! The 'Pura Vida' barn is air-conditioned in summer and heated in winter, making it an all year round experience! The 'Pura Vida' barn has become a solace for myself, a meeting place for friends and family and an arts centre to be enjoyed by all!
